LETTER I: Stephen King has INFLUENCED so many authors, movies and horror pop culture that exists today. I love watching shows/movies and reading and thinking "yup, they are a King fan" ; Stranger things, Scary Movie, Ready Player One, etc, etc.
Can you name any?

GarthRanzz Clive Barker is the first name that comes to mind. He was even touted as King‘s replacement when King “retired” from the horror genre. I‘ve always liked this image. Thanks for posting! 😊 7y
MinDea @GarthRanzz The only Clive Barker I have read was Abarat. I assume that is not his "normal" work. Is there anything you would recommend to start with? 7y
GarthRanzz The Books of Blood. Honestly I haven‘t read much beyond those. I believe it‘s were the story that started The Hellraiser movies came from. 7y
MinDea Oh I never knew that @GarthRanzz Might have to check them out. Have you ever read Abarat then? I would recommend it. They are so cool (graphic novelsish) and I enjoyed the story. 7y
GarthRanzz I haven‘t but I‘ll be adding that to my TBR. 😊 it‘s been a while since I‘ve read any of his work. I need to read some myself. 7y
TrishB I love Clive‘s work - but it‘s not like Kings. I think they just got compared because he wrote horror. Start with Weaveworld - fantasy/horror mix that‘s great stuff. 7y
MinDea Awesome Thanks for the recommendation @TrishB! 7y
