Elliott lives with his cat in a beautiful Victorian home he remodeled. He teaches underprivileged children science through his non-profit. The only thing he is missing is a family. He meets Gemma and yay bliss! Then her family moves in for a few weeks while they get on their feet. All hell breaks loose. This one is fast paced with some good twists. Also some cringeworthy moments. Hopefully, it will also make you appreciate your in-laws.
Wow now that was a good thriller that kept me interested until the very last page. It started out really slow for me but by the second half I just wanted to know what was up with this weird family. They were awful obviously but I thought there would be more to the story. I'm so glad I stuck with it.
Time to relax and start #heretostay. By #Markedwards. Been looking forward to reading this one
So, my recovery process is proving to be frustratingly slow after my latest operation and I‘ve been signed off work for another week, but....there is always the bonus of more time to read! Making the most of a Kindle Unlimited deal and getting stuck into another Mark Edwards - I really enjoyed ‘The Devil‘s Work‘ but haven‘t loved all of his novels...
Thanks @Andrew65 I found author I like on book 3 of magpies and that‘s as great as the other 2. Now to try this one as it Q9 on amazon kindle.
4 stars
This is a fast-paced thriller that I would recommend for fans of the genre or anyone looking for an inspirational book to help them better appreciate the family they married into.

What would you do if the guests from hell showed up, and threatened to never leave?
Disturbing. That‘s the feeling after finishing the last page of this book. The ending didn‘t quite work for me personally. It was a page turner, for sure, which is what I was looking for when I picked it up. That fact bumped this thriller from being 3 stars up to 4 stars for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
I am excited that my new Mark Edwards books arrived today! I am happy to have a physical copy of The Retreat since the ebook I read was a borrowed book. I decided to add Here To Stay to my already ridiculously unattainable October pile because I feel confident it will be a quick, creepy read and it has a character named Elliot in it, which is a name that will always have a special place in my heart. I sure hope Elliot‘s a good guy!
It‘s a blissfully cool fall day, after being 98* just two days ago. The windows are open, airing out the house with a beautiful breeze and I have my page-turner, but it‘s a little chilly. Using the new Ugg blanket that my son gave me for my birthday last week. This baby is going to keep me warm and cozy for lots of reading in the cooler months! ❤️📚
Reading this one next. It was my Amazon First pick for August. I‘m in the mood for a page turner, something I don‘t want to put down, and thrillers usually fit that bill for me. ❤️📚
The in-laws were just rude before, but now I‘m convinced that they‘re evil. #dontdothat
This was a good one. I predicted the twist at the end, but enjoyed it anyway. Amazon first read ( I‘ve been lucky with those, most I‘ve really liked )
I really enjoyed this book! It was my #AmazonFirstReads selection this month. It was one of those thrillers I didn‘t want to put down. And the good guys and bad guys were pretty evident right away but this story is so good that means nothing. In-laws “here to stay”... the horrors! 😱 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Book 3/12

I'm fairly sure that I have yet to read one of my Amazon First picks - but that doesn't stop me from downloading them anyway 😂
