Book 12 of the Hamish Macbeth series is another pick for me. The first couple of books were just okay to me, but the deeper I get into the series the more I like it. M.C. Beaton is the best! I also really enjoy the narrator for this series. 4⭐️ #audiobook #cozymystery #HamishMacbeth #MCBeaton #murdermystery

EadieB tranquility. This is a light and entertaining cozy mystery which is a look at life in a small Scottish village. Hamish is the sort of character who grows on you. He needs to find out who murdered Randy Duggan in order to save both his career and his life. He is sure that the murder of the Macho Man was a crime of passion. I am now looking forward to another Hamish Macbeth novel. 1y
EadieB There are plenty more to choose from so that won't be a problem. If you like comedy with your mysteries then you will love this book. 1y
Crazeedi I really need to get back to this series!! 1y

TheSpineView Sounds good! Great job! 1y
kezzlou85 I vaguely remember the TV series because my mum had a crush on Robert Carlyle. I've read a couple of the books and need to go back to them. 1y

This felt like a much more in depth Hamish Macbeth book than usual, along with a bit more violence than is normally expected - although you would still call it a cozy. It is always enjoyable to spend time with Hamish in deadly Lochdubh. These are cleverly written and enjoy the central group of characters and his relationship with Priscilla is always interesting. I look forward to my next trip.

Just starting book 12 in the light and entertaining Hamish MacBeth Series. Always enjoy my stay in Lochdubh and time with Hamish, a great and quirky character. Although Lochdubh, for a small village, has to have the highest murder rate in the Western World! #Scotland #Crime

Not the way I wanted to read my first book of the year, but what can you do? #litsyinsomniaclub This 12th Hamish MacBeth book didn't necessarily reinvent the wheel, but how Hamish figured it all out was interesting. I love reading these on my kindle in bed (it's this or Poirot) bc I know things will end up alright so if I miss something while falling asleep it's okay. 4.25 ⭐️

shanaqui I've never managed to really get into Beaton's work -- I rather loathed Agatha Raisin, alas! 8y
saresmoore Sorry for the insomnia, but glad for a good book. Ah, but isn't life full of the bittersweet? 8y
DeborahSmall I suffer chronic insomnia too. Reading wires my brain more so I cut off reading around 2 or 3 am and check. Netflix out. I'm quicker to fall asleep during a movie or tv show. I used to watch Hamish McBeth tv show. My cousin got married in a castle up north around 12 years ago and we stayed in Plonkton where they filmed the show. Across the bridge from Isle of Skye 💕 8y
rabbitprincess Now I have the song "Macho Man" stuck in my head ? 8y
