My #BookSpin for May - it was great! An amazing look into a dark time in world's history, so many heartbreaking events seen through the eyes of a little Jewish girl, one of the only 12 children that survived the Lodz ghetto in Poland. Definite pick!

Found it in a little free library a few months ago, I wanted to read it since and @TheAromaOfBooks made it possible this month: Thank you again and again!

Also my Y for #LitsyAtoZ @BookishMarginalia

claudiuo I haven't posted in a while so here are my other reads for this month, all picks:
- White Bird - it complemented Yellow Star very well, my son recommended it to me;
- The Code of the Woosters - another very funny Jeeves book;
- Only the End of the World Again - another awesome story from Neil Gaiman and P. Craig Russel;
- Charlie Mackesy's beautiful book: The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse - big thanks to @DebbieGrillo for mentioning it.

In 1939 the Nazi's forced 270,000 Jewish people to live in the Lodz ghetto. When the war ended in 1945, there were only 800 people left. Only 12 of them were children. This is one of those children's story. A quick read, but incredibly powerful. This will stay with me a long time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

tricours I came across some stumbling stones in the (small) city I live in last weekend. I didn't even know people had been deported from here! 7y
GypsyKat @tricours Chilling. What a horrific time in our history. 😕 7y

There's two days (including today) left this month, so I'm thinking of reading one of these. I can't decide which one though? Opinions??

AmyG It's Yom Kippur...the holiest holiday for Jews. So maybe Yellow Star. 7y
Hollie I vote Yellow Star, it's a quick read but powerful. 7y
GypsyKat @AmyG I'm not Jewish, but I like the timing of that! @Hollie So Yellow Star it is! Thanks to you both! 😊 7y
[DELETED] 3803335244 I really enjoyed A Long Walk to Water! I read it as a read-a-loud to all my kids. So when your done reading Yellow Star, you have another great read. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 7y

My #litsypartyofone continues at the pool. It feels a little odd to read about the Lodz ghetto during the freezing cold Polish winter while it's 90 degrees here, but I'm working on my tan while reading...multitasking! 😀

Cinfhen Great pic but that paragraph 💔💔 7y
Hollie @Cinfhen I just finished the book, it's beautifully done and heartbreaking for sure. 7y

Storia vera sull'olocausto! Però 10 euro per esser scritto tutto così ⬆️ .. Si finisce in pochissimo insomma!
