On Thursday last week I made my usual holiday trip with Stew to where he works in a nearby town for the day. The weather was terrible as it rained most of the time and High Street is long with lots of op shops spread along the way but we had a yummy morning tea at Icky Sticky patisserie. The new owners still make my favourite cake. Then we had an Italian lunch together and in between I shopped. Here are my spoils from just one of the op shops!

“Coco Chanel” was written by Isabel Vegara in 2016. This story represents an amazing biography about Coco who faced many challenges throughout her life, and eventually become a very successful fashion designer. I really enjoyed this story!

Just a few from the new ‘Little People, Big Dreams‘ picture book series. Each one takes an influential woman and shows how they pursued their dreams in a quirky little picture book. Very sweet!

This was a nice little read. I completely forgot that Coco was raised in a convent and sang for a little while. I should probably revisit some of her biopics. #kidlit #picturebook

This was a cute picture book with some lovely illustrations. It teaches children, not only about Coco Chanel and her life, but it also dares children to be different.

This was on my wish list for Bella for a while but I wasn't sure if it would be a bit style over substance. We were bought it as a gift and love it. It is simply told but lovely, as are the illustrations. "...being different might make other people think differently too..." A great series, looking forward to reading more #raisingreaders
