This is a hard one to rate. On the one hand, the story is fascinating, but also one I already knew about &so I don‘t feel I learned anything new. I also had a hard time sympathizing w/Rachel. Yes, what happened to her was awful, but she also allowed for Anna to pay for all their other outings. I do agree she shouldn‘t have to pay for Anna‘s or the other guests portions, but I think Rachel should have owed Amer Express her expenses for that trip.

Came to this book late by way of watching the Netflix series Inventing Anna. I hope Anna is not making money from the series though I do see she has quite a following on social media. Incredible . I watched the real Anna interviewed. Wow! I‘m glad I read this book. I feel for Rachel and hope she has made heaps from this book. She wasn‘t depicted very well in the series at all. That was sad.

This book is the perfect escape that I needed!! Alternating between print (thanks for the loan! @Reviewsbylola ) and audio while I clean, b/c I‘m dying to get to the bottom of this bizarre real life con job...

Like gossip girl meets true crime, utterly enthralling. It‘s a sorry I had already followed, but the point of view of the writer (a victim) added an interesting new layer. Well written.

I‘m just about done this book. I‘m doing an audio/ print combo. It‘s sort of a wild tale but real life is usually stranger than fiction. This book has the three G‘s my daughter loves: Glitz, Glamour, Gossip 🤩A fake heiress scamming her way through NYC to Marrakesh.

I had lots to do around the house today so I listened to this for most of the day. I‘ve seen some reviews where there have been complaints about the author‘s voice being annoying, didn‘t bother me.

I felt this was a situation that could happen to anyone. 5⭐️
