I felt like this book had a similar feeling to her Jayne Castle books - just set in Seattle. I absolutely loved it. There‘s the psychic, paranormal talents and a secret group trying to gain paranormal weapons and secrets. The secrets of a small town and covert groups came together with a romance between two investigators.

This sounds as close to an Arcane Society novel as we have seen in sooooo long. How did I miss this?

mdemanatee And, yes, I am still stubbornly using overdrive even though I have downloaded Libby multiple times. Don‘t worry about it. 4y
LibrarianRyan I have it, but have not read it yet. Book 2 is out either next week or before the end of the month. I got both through the Penguin Rewards program so I didn't have to pay for them. Now I just have to read them. 4y
mdemanatee @LibrarianRyan I figured out about it by seeing book 2 posted. What a good use of rewards! I am still a couple books away from my penguin reward so definitely impressed there! 4y
LibrarianRyan I like to use my rewards for books I would buy any way. Either to try new things I e never heard of, or fave authors I usually get from the library. I think I have earned 4-5 books already but I‘ve been doing it since inception. 4y

2 girls witnessed a murder, or maybe they didn‘t. Then as adults one goes missing. They have powers because scientists are messing with the “paranormal”. It‘s an okay story. I dock it a star for using frisson more than once.

Why haven't I read Jayne Ann Krentz before 🤔 First one and I loved it. I don't usually read paranormal stuff, but I thought this one was actually good

Krentz is a must read author for me. That said, this book didn‘t have the heat between her main characters nor the witty repartee. Ok but not fabulous.

SW-T I just finished this one. Good summary. 5y

I‘m not a spokesperson but I can‘t say it enough #PenguinRandomHouseRewardsPoints. I bought my nephew books for the holidays from book outlet and I get $58 in free just released hardcovers for myself for taking time to log my purchases.

LauraJ I always forget to do this. 5y
KT1432 For some reason I didn't think Book Outlet would count! I really need to start doing this. 5y
LibrarianRyan @lele1432 it does but they always need to see the receipt for Bookoutlet. 5y

A murder witnessed by Catalina and Olivia when they were teenagers has come to the surface after 15 years, and neither of the girls knows they are in danger.

Both girls have psychic abilities and see auras.

I am not really into the paranormal genre, but there was enough suspense and mystery to keep my attention and to keep me reading.

If you enjoy this genre, it will be a treat.. 4/5
