I dont think I would have made it though this if not for audio books. I am not a huge historical fiction fal though. If you are, it is a good read.
I can see why some people may call this all a new classic.

Nice read while playing disc golf and social distancing.
It is also interesting that you cannot trust anyone do to underlying alliances. I also liked how religion played a role in why some people wanted to side with the English because they were under the Church of England. It reminds me today of information that is spread on topics. You have sides that want to side with this media choice and the opposite with another media choice. Both sides believe in their cause though. #UCFSSEMYBROTHERSAMISDEAD
After reading about half of this book, I have come to find it interesting that both sides have a viewpoint on the war. It is crazy to think that families could be torn because one side sees the English as the enemy and another as supreme rulers. One thing that I found odd was rebels that were basically attacking Tim's father and asking to relinquish his firearm. It seems as the Rebels were just as ruthless as the English. #UCFSSEMYBROTHERSAMISDEAD
A couple days ago I finished reading the book “My Brother Sam is Dead” the book is from Sam‘s younger brother Tim‘s point of view. Sams perspective of the war is opposite of his parents but he joins anyways. As the book continues Tim encounters many struggles that war brings on a day to day basis. Tim and his parents constantly worry about Sam and hope he will make it back alive once the war is over. #UCFSSEMYBROTHERSAMISDEAD

In fifth grade, I absolutely loved this story! The Newbery Honor is about a young boy name Tim Meeker whose brother Sam enlists in the new American Revolutionary Army. What Tim didn‘t realize was that his brother and father would end up rooting for opposing teams, Tim is torn between who to support. This HF novel is perfect for LC for students in 5th-7th grade. #ucflae3414su19
A short #audiobook while I'm waiting for the last Bloody Jack novel to become available via OverDrive!
Already interested in what happens to the characters, so we'll see how the Revolutionary War treats them.
Meh. A little lackluster, this one, I thought. I couldn't quite get interested in the characters or what happened to them, and it seemed fairly vanilla up until the very end, when it suddenly got super-serious and dark. Yes, I know I should have seen the death of the brother coming (and I did - no, really), but I assumed it would be described in the same vanilla way as everything else had been up to that point. So the ending seemed disjointed.
