I love going into a book blind, not knowing at all what to expect. I don't know why, but I didn't expect to like this book at all LMAO I was mostly just reading it because it had been on my shelf for ages and it was short, so would help me on my way to fulfilling my #MountTBR challenge. But this love story tuggggged on my heartstrings and by the end I was fulfilled. It's not the type of romance I typically read, but I do recommend!

Totally, hopelessly behind on reviewing books I finished recently, but I just started this one today and I love it. I‘m almost half done already.

I devoured this lovely book in one day. So sweet, and so sad. Loved it.

Taking a break from The Summer of the Chunksters (and immature, male protagonists) to read this slim volume before I tackle the next big book - You Can‘t Go Home Again - in September. #currentlyreading

Maybe it is just me, but it was really confusing.

1. I set a goal of 40 books this great. I also want top read some of the hundreds of unread books I already have.

A brash, honest look at the love between Jack & Ruby as they move through many #seasonsoflove in their long marriage. I loved this sometimes brutal depiction of marriage that proves hard times can build a strong, and ultimately loving, relationship.

I‘m impressed by how much emotion I felt reading this short, concise book. We learn on the first page that Ruby is dead and her husband Jack is mourning. Then we hear from both of them in alternating chapters, reflecting on the events of their simple lives. The beauty of their love lies in the mundane and while it isn‘t the most dramatic love story, it is sincere. Some good humor woven throughout as well!!
