#fridaynightshare #naturalitsy #midwintersolace this is my favorite more recent winter nonfiction. I have been in a rabbit hole of Everest books for several years. This guy was funny, and his accent was fantastic on audio. I had to stop walking and put my hands on my knees when he described defecating in his own hood on the mountain. It probably “was the best of times and the worst of times” for Fergus. 😂

I have been in a mountaineering rabbit hole. This book gave a very detailed account of the whole process of climbing Everest, before base camp and all of the acclimatization that takes place before summit, the illness and death. The author was very funny at times, something about a climber 💩 in his own hood made me laugh right out loud. I still wonder why on earth would someone do this for 15 minutes in an oxygen deprived state of wonder.

Continuing down the rabbit hole of climbing. Great Irish accent and new to me details of the trip to base camp ⛺️ on Everest. Great to walk to.

A detailed account of climbing Mt Everest. It covers the emotional & physical highs & lows of such an undertaking. It does drag a little at times. Overall verdict: okay but has some slow moments. 3⭐️
