1. Tagged as my primary, DEATH‘S END by Cixin Liu on audio, collections from Colette and André Alexis for short fiction, and Lemire and Sorrentino‘s Green Arrow run for comics.

2. WAYWARD SON by Rainbow Rowell.

3. Last night I saw THE HANDMAIDEN, a Korean adaptation of FINGERSMITH by Sarah Waters. It was a little long, but well done overall. I loved how they changed the ending.

I‘m taking February off from American writers for the second year in a row, and it‘s SO NICE to know I‘m in for a month of quoted temperatures I actually understand. When it comes to Fahrenheit, I know 32 is the same as 0 (which is WEIRD, because who the hell starts counting at 32?), but I have absolutely no idea what Americans mean when they say it‘s 83 or “in the high 50s” or whatever. (Pro tip for USians: almost no one under 65 does.)

BethM If it‘s below zero in Fahrenheit it‘s at least 32 degrees below freezing 😂 5y
AlaMich Yep, that's us...behind the times in SO MANY WAYS! 😩 5y

Breakfast with a new book! PUT ME BACK TOGETHER starts off with some great tension and an admirable lack of Americanization. Fingers crossed it stays this good.
