I would use this in the classroom because I like the way they use poetry to tell a story. I think children would also like how the title is who is talking in the story or gives information.
pickThis is a good poetry book because the poem rhymes and it is natural. It also invites children to see poetry in a fresh new way.
pickSuch a great story! Katharen has just moved from Alabama — where she had many friends and told so many stories her friends called her Keet-Keet Parakeet — to Illinois. In her new school, she doesn‘t fit in. No more stories because the kids make fun of her accent.
Grandpa is in IL and takes Keet fishing. He helps her learn how to get her stories back.
