Family Guy meets Election in this hilarious young adult debut! Twelve-year-old Oliver Watsons got the IQ of a grilled cheese sandwich. Or so everyone in Omaha thinks. In reality, Olivers a mad evil genius on his way to world domination, and hes used his great brain to make himself the third-richest person on earth! Then Olivers fatherand archnemesismakes a crack about the upcoming middle school election, and Oliver takes it as a personal challenge. Hell run, and hell win! Turns out, though, that overthrowing foreign dictators is actually way easier than getting kids to like you. . . Can this evil genius win the class presidency and keep his true identity a secret, all in time to impress his dad?

Time for me to play catch up on my own photo challenge. For #scapegoat I give you Oliver Watson opponent for class president Randy Sparks. Oliver basically tortures this kid. If Randy says hi, Oliver screams "stop hitting me", Randy sits next to him at lunch, and Oliver makes everyone think Randy is stealing his lunch money. Randy Sparks is definitely a scapegoat. #characters2017.

4🌟. If you want a fun book to put a smile on your face, read this one. This is one of those books that intrigued me when it came out in 2009, and now eight years later I am kicking myself for not reading it sooner. It's like becoming Friends with Zac Morris. Long review on Goodreads. #BeatTheBackList #William- character who deals in money

The last page actually has nothing to do with the book but is a about the preview for another book at the back, but I thought it was fun.

The foot notes make this book hilarious.

Smangela I keep browsing my Dollar Store shelves hoping this book is gonna pop up there! Im going to check the library, sounds hilarious! 8y
LibrarianRyan I am finding it quite enjoyable. 😁 8y
LibrarianRyan @Smangela if I hadn't already promised it to a coworker I would send it to you. 8y
Smangela @LibrarianRyan you are too kind! That's a sweet thought nonetheless :) 8y

Still true. Unfortunately. 😑

WarpedSweetness Yep. It feels like if you have big boobs people automatically assume the worst about you, even at almost thirty. 8y

I think this sums up the last election.

WarpedSweetness I think I really need to read this book now. 8y
Smangela Reminds me of the Wonder Woman debacle too! 8y

LibrarianRyan @Smangela 👍🏻🤓 8y
LibrarianRyan @WarpedSweetness $1 at dollar tree in us. But not all places carry the same books. 8y
WarpedSweetness @Smangela The Wonder Woman debacle? @LibrarianRyan I wonder if there is a dollar tree near me...!! 8y
Smangela @WarpedSweetness the whole situation with there being women-only viewings and I think a man in TX took issue with it 🙄🤷🏻‍♀️ 8y
WarpedSweetness @Smangela Are you serious? That is ridiculous! I did not hear about that. 8y
Oryx This is so true. It really annoys me when guys dismiss books and films because they are "girly". No, it's just a story about people. 8y
LibrarianRyan @WarpedSweetness one person even wrote to the mayor of the town to complain. The mayors response was awesome!!! Www.mayorradler.com/letter-wonder-woman 8y
WarpedSweetness @Oryx That kind of thing annoys me too. @LibrarianRyan The link doesn't work for me. :-( But that is just so ridiculous. Smh 8y
LibrarianRyan @WarpedSweetness dang. I type it exactly. Just google Wonder Woman mayor letter and it should come right up. 8y

"33. I don't mind; it feels like a little hug. ". The things this kid says... or thinks ...

Robothugs 😳😳😳 8y
LibrarianRyan @Robothugs I can't help it. This passage makes me smile. It makes the character spring to life. It's almost like reading one of those over the top nick show from my youth. 🤓🤓 8y
Robothugs It actually does sound like something right out of one of those shows. 😂 8y
LibrarianRyan @Robothugs throw in a little Zac Morris from Saved by the bell (especially when he talks to the audience) and you have this book so far. 😀🤓 8y

I refuse to paint any more today. 2 hours of sanding. Four coats each side of the door and 2 coats on the bottom half of the table I pulled out of the neighbors garbage. Going to do the top of the table in the morning and maybe free paint a design. But until then I shall settle down with this book I have wanted to read forever. Picked it up at the Dollar tree. I've never seen this cover before but it is sooo much better than the original.

kelseynicburke That's a great title 8y
Indexasaurus I just told my 11 year old about this, its right up her alley, lol! Thanks :) 8y
RealLifeReading Ok that's some title! 8y

Smangela A well-deserved break!! 8y
LibrarianRyan @Indexasaurus I think they would like it. It's funny and takes place in 7th grade. It has pictures and foot notes (but the foot notes are usually comical. ) 8y
LibrarianRyan @RealLifeReading I have loved the title since it came out. The original cover was really on the nose, but graphically I like this one better and give more of an evil genius vibe. 🤓 8y

I would say that I was bad, but they were only $1 each. The bad part, thorns and Edda are sequels and I have not read the first. I have wanted to read genius for a while and love this cover version. Top is a sequel to King Dork. More on that in the next post.

I'm taking #politicsandbooks to the middle school for #augustphotochallenge. This book is uproariously hilarious! Maybe not was intended for today's challenge, but I couldn't resist. 😂
