A short novela for our #IndeathLongReadathon. It was good and followed the previous novel right in the timeline of Christmas. #SeriesLove24 #ReadAway24. @Andrew65 @TheSpineView @DieAReader @GHABI4ROSES @StayCurious

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR This was a good addition to the series even though it was quick. I enjoyed Eve going up against someone she knew instead of the unsub. It definitely made this case more personal. And more so when Mira was taken. I do think the climax was a bit abrupt though, after such an intense build up. And onto the next! Thanks for sticking with us🖤

Librarybelle For a shorter story, this was good! 4w
LiseWorks Yeah I liked it. 4w
TheAromaofBooks I really enjoyed this one - short and snappy with some pretty intense moments. I didn\'t think Mira was going to get killed, but I was scared that she would be hurt!! 4w

Look who managed to finish another book. (We won‘t talk about how it was only 3 hours.)

I love that this one picks up immediately following the previous book—murder takes no time off for the holidays. Robb packs so much into this shortened story. Great story! And, the bad guy is pretty twisted. #InDeathLongReadalong

PageShifter I had planned to join this readalong but didn\'t have time. But I am following your journey 🥳🥰 1mo

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.1-5: Immediately on the heels of our last case, during what was supposed to be a well deserved holiday for the team, Eve is called to the scene of a murder of a judge she knew and had worked with. The poor man was brutally tortured and killed and there‘s a list of others the killer is targeting. And Eve and Dr. Mira are on the list. ⬇️

StayCurious Eve immediately knows who she‘s after - a twisted SOB she already put away but who escaped and is seeking his revenge. This guy‘s really bad - probably one of the worst Eve‘s been up against. Can she bring him in for a second time and stop him before he reaches the others on his list? 1mo
Librarybelle I liked that this takes place immediately after the previous book—nice connection. This guy is creepy! 1mo

LiseWorks I agree with @Librarybelle it is so nice to see Eve maneuver the holidays. 1mo
TheAromaofBooks At first I was confused because I thought this was someone from an earlier book that I just didn't remember, but it sounds like he was from back in the day. This guy is nasty!! 1mo
LitStephanie I can't imagine how much it would suck to have a police job where you got called in on Xmas morning (or other holidays super important to you). I love how Peabody got Dallas an old timey sheriff's star! 1mo

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Our next read is the novella Midnight in death. I found it in a copy of Three in Death that carries three of the novellas, and it‘s also in a story collection called Silent Night I think. There are only 10 chapters so we‘ll read it over a span of 2 weeks. All are welcome to join!

Librarybelle Sounds perfect! 1mo
LiseWorks Yep I have my copy ready to go. 1mo
TheAromaofBooks Yay!! I didn't realize we were reading the novellas together as well, so I already read this one 😂 It was really good, so I'm excited to see what everyone thinks!! 1mo
LitStephanie Oops, I already read the first half, thinking this was the first discussion weekend. Looking forward to the post next Saturday. All this Christmas is making me pine for the holidays! 1mo

#7.5 in the series. Fast paced thriller. You know from the beginning who the murderer is so it‘s all about outwitting him to catch him. Takes place immediately following #7 (as in the very next day).

This one was really good. More thriller than mystery, but I enjoyed it a lot. Takes place over Christmas.

Bailedbailed

My first time bail, for a 90 page book. 😝 I have read a few in the In Death series. As a small book with a Christmas Day setting, following a tortuous serial killer; mom and I could reasonably seek a cozier mystery.

I rescued this little book from the 'going to thrift' box. I picked it up long ago for my mom. She does read the In Death books, but hadn't gotten into this one 🤔 perhaps as a brutal murder mystery during Christmas. I'll give this quick-read a look for thoughts, plus catching up to making my Goodreads goal.

Liatrek @tracey38 Me too! I‘m trying to wait for my friend to catch up to me so we can read the series together. So, I‘m going back and reading the novella and in between books till then. 6y

A quick In Death novella, obviously not as detailed as a full length book and the investigation felt a little rushed. Overall a good story though.

On Chapter 5 of this novella in the In Death series. It's a little lighter on the details, but definitely a quick read so far.
