Got my first three volumes of the new paperback Lymond Chronicles. They are pretty, oversized and have decent sized print. Good additions to all my other versions of this series. #DorothyDunnett
pickLymond accompanies Mary of Guise to the French court initially in disguise and then as herald to defuse a murder plot on a young Mary Queen of Scots. Overall a good second book in the series, which focusses on court politics. Lymond remains an outrageous Mary Sue, being a great fighter, a master musician an expert in intrigue and espionage, yet despite this remains a character with some emotional failings. A fun historically accurate story.
bailedGiving myself permission to bail as I've got too many books I'd rather be reading than this one... let's just hope I understand what's going on in book 3!
pickA nail-biting second book for our Lymond. Also hurray for seeing more of Mary, Queen of Scots. 😊 I love this series. Adding the third book to next year's reading pool!

pickAhhh this was better than the first one and SO GOOD. I haven't had a lot of time for reading this week but the little time I've had has been spent in Lymond's world and I don't regret it one bit. These books are full of intrigue, nonstop twists and turns and wonderfully complex characters. This second installment built beautifully on the first and I'm sure it will only continue to get better. This will make you laugh, cry and cry out in shock. ❤
I think Lymond might make his way onto the naughty list on occasion 😇😏😈
