My current read is excellent, I started it today & am 179 pages in. Being a hardback, I took off the dust jacket, which left a copy of Leonard's signature on the #beige cover. It's great to be back in Leonard's world of inept criminals & equally inept masterminds with snappy dialogue & a great sense of place,

I am struggling with all of my current reads at the moment and just want something fun and fast that i can totally get lost in. I first read this book in college in a Florida Writers class and absolutely fell in love with Leonard‘s writing. Fingers crossed that it lives up to the memories on a reread. 🤞🏻

Happy #bookishbirthday to the late, great Elmore Leonard (1925-2013)! It's been a fascinating joy to watch Leonard be elevated to the canon of American literature, as a master of character, humor, setting, and, of course, dialogue. I really recommend the lesser known Maximum Bob, about a corrupt but slightly charming judge in Florida.
