Get ready for a turbo-charged short read (80 pages) from two of the world's biggest thriller writers. Jack Reacher and Will Trent Twice the action Twice the drama Double the trouble Will Trent is undercover at Fort Knox. His assignment: to investigate a twenty-two-year-old murder. His suspect's name: Jack Reacher. Jack Reacher is in Fort Knox on his own mission: to bring down a dangerous criminal ring operating at the heart of America's military. Except now Will Trent is on the scene. But there's a bigger conspiracy at play - one that neither the special agent nor the ex-military cop could have anticipated. And the only option is for Jack Reacher and Will Trent to team up and play nicely. If they can... Praise for Karin Slaughter: 'I'd follow her anywhere' Gillian Flynn 'A great writer at the peak of her powers' Peter James 'Her characters, plot, and pacing are unrivalled' Michael Connelly 'Big, dark, rich, satisfying, and bloody' Stuart MacBride 'Fiction doesn't get any better than this' Jeffery Deaver 'One of the boldest thriller writers working today' Tess Gerritsen 'A writer of extraordinary talents' Kathy Reichs Praise for Lee Child: 'These books are absolutely addictive' George R. R. Martin 'Great pace, drama, language' James Patterson 'Jack Reacher is today's James Bond' Ken Follett 'Nothing makes for a great weekend quite like quality time with Jack' Lisa Gardner 'The coolest continuing series character' Stephen King 'I always seize the latest Lee Child with pleasure' Philip Pullman 'I pick up Jack Reacher when I'm in the mood for someone big to solve my problems' Patricia Cornwell'

This is my first taste of Jack Reacher, and I'm intrigued.

As for the story, I wasn't all that impressed. It feels like the ending was the beginning of the real story. An interesting one at that.
I know short stories aren't all that, but I expected more.

Very short so not much mystery or detail but was intriguing seeing these two together. I think Will is still my favourite but a good read for fans of both. 4* #WinterGames #ReindeerGamers @LiseWorks

This one was just okay. The storyline was kind of meh, and the book had an open ending. Why? #SeriesLove2023 @TheSpineView @Andrew65

deeannloso @TheSpineView Yeah. I don‘t understand the point of this book. It‘s a novella and it has Jack Reacher in it. That‘s about the extent of the excitement. 🫤 2y
Andrew65 A strange combination. Never a great fan of novellas. Well done on finishing it. 2y
deeannloso @Andrew65 I worded that comment wrong. I‘m not a big fan of novellas either. The only positive of the book (if you can call it that) was it had Jack Reacher in it. That‘s it. 🤷🏻‍♀️🫤 2y

I always love Jack Reacher and this surprise library find did not disappoint. Of course, a novella wasn‘t enough and I wanted more, but it‘s a fun, quick read. Perhaps a helpful inroad to Slaughter‘s novels to entertain me while I wait for the next Reacher.

👌 👍RATING: 3.5/5

It was a short story about Reacher and Trent. Short and enjoyable. What a cliffhanger! I think they will be a great partner! Hoping to read more of them together in the future. 😊

Typically, I'm not a fan of short stories. IMHO, there's not enough time to develop the characters or finish a satisfying story line. I was getting into this story, and then it was over, abruptly, upon introducing a new problem to solve. Is there going to be a sequel short story? Are they really leaving us hanging? Rude!

I‘m a big Jack Reacher fan. After this, I‘ll give a try to a full-length Will Trent book, too.

A solid meh.The point of this short story is to introduce Child's and Slaughter's readers to one another, if they weren't already acquainted. From a story perspective, it's so far removed from both characters regular lives that they barely seem like the same people. It's short which didn't allow for story building and it seemed like the authors took it in turns writing a chapter each from their characters perspective, which to me was a bit jarring

This is a great addition to the of Jack Reacher and as an added Bonus I was introduced to Will Trent. My only issue is that then short sorry ended abruptly and on a cliff hanger of sorts. Let‘s hope there is a follow up.

Karin Slaughter‘s Will Trent meets Lee Child‘s Jack Reacher. Can Fort Knox handle these two?

A short novella packed with action and detail. Hoping to see more of this collaboration.

TrishB Is it worth it? Q9.89 for about 80 pages? 6y
SW-T @TrishB I read it on Hoopla so it was a free read for me. For Q9.89 I‘d hesitate to be honest. The Hoopla copy was 94 pages, but that included author notes about the collaboration plus a preview. It was good but worth Q9.89? Hard to say. 6y
TrishB Thanks 👍🏻 I want to read as it‘s about Will, but I‘m a bit miffed at the price! May wait for an offer. 6y
