This one hasn‘t hooked me in yet. It isn‘t my usual type of read, so it‘s probably that. Has anyone read it?

🎧📚 This is my first Lincoln Rhyme book. I think I‘d read another! He‘s a paraplegic X-NYC cop.

He‘s thinking about having a dangerous surgery to restore motion to his upper extremities when the ADA taps him and his beautiful cop GF for help with a murder investigation.

The book‘s a bit busy but enjoyable & well written. It‘s political, a thriller, mystery, suspense & a bit of a police procedural crime novel. Good for what it was.

Great writing..great read

The fast pace and plot involving detectives trying to prove the U.S. government ordered an illegal assassination of a U.S. citizen was intriguing at first. But the killer fixates on comparing torturing and killing his victims to butchering and cooking meat. The first couple of times Deaver gave long descriptions of the murderer cooking a meal, contrasted with long descriptions of seeing his victims about the same, I was OK with it. ⬇️⬇️

A political kill...was it legal or traitorous? Lots of research to discover the truth & misadventures along the way.

Ive worked out that if you leave a couple of years between each lincoln rhyme story the read is more enjoyable. Definitely a decent plot but the formula doesn't change - still i do enjoy his storytelling so maybe a shorter gap next time
