Continuing my month of scary reads, I chose this SK novella about a college kid named Alan who ends up taking a ride with a dead guy. Alan is hitchhiking from college to his hometown to see his mom in the hospital. She just had a stroke. The dead guy gives him a choice — and I loved seeing this play out. A good solid little novella. 4⭐️

Although I read this 8 years ago, parts of it are really stuck in my mind. Not one of my highest rated King pieces, but it‘s worth a listen. #OctoberXFiles #bitinthebullet

Creepy ghost story in this novella. Hitchhiker + dark rural road + cemetery = compulsively readable Stephen King classic.
