William has just received the best present of his life. It's an old, real-looking stone and wooden model of a castle, with a drawbridge, moat, and a finger-high knight to guard the gates. It's the mysterious castle his housekeeper has told him about, and even though William is sad she's leaving, now the castle is his!William can't wait to play with it--he's certain there's something magical about the castle. And sure enough, when he picks up the tiny silver knight, it comes alive in his hand!Sir Simon tells William a mighty story of wild sorcery, wizards, and magic. And suddenly William is off on a fantastic quest to another land and another time--where a fiery dragon and an evil wizard are waiting to do battle . . . .

I think I saw someone post about it on Litsy or something (I haven‘t figured out for sure what reminded me, though — too much going on right now 😑) and I requested it from the library since I don‘t have access to my old copy right now. I couldn‘t remember the plot but I remembered loving it, and apparently I still love it! I should write a review but I‘m scrambling around right now due to 24in48, haha. 6y
TheAromaofBooks Not being able to remember anything beyond vague feelings about a book is what lead me to start book blogging back in the day - it helps me pay better attention while I'm reading, and then I also have something to go back and look at later, too. Sadly, this one was too far in the distant past. :-D 6y

I loved fantasy books as a kid, and besides all the obvious series, this duology was a #magical favorite. I had to grab some screenshots though, bc a friend's 9yo daughter is borrowing my physical copies right now! 🙂 #aprilamazingreads

#octphotochallenge #90stoy technically I still have mine, but it's in the garage not the attic. I had EVERY piece, which everyone laughed at since I was in high school when it came out. But I love. I was just debating last week as I pack things, if I should keep it. Currently, yes won.

GuiltyFeat I brought this back on a plane for my kids and they played with it for years. We also had the pirate ship. 8y

ValerieAndBooks Keep it!! Something like that is too hard to replace! The only thing I have here re: 90s toys is my son's Original Tickle Me Elmo -- he got it the year that the craze began!! 8y
