Pickpick

Mostly written before the Great War , Walsers stories , observations of the glamorous world of Berlin brings the city to life .His enthusiasm & joy shines a light on the modern age in a sophisticated city, I couldn‘t help thinking how much was soon to change.Walsers writing style is very modern for the time & I want to read more. The selection of a Kirchner painting for the cover, perfect .NYRB does a great job bringing worthy books back to print.
