I loved the journal styled layout for most of the book. A wonderful, and at times a little heart breaking, story of a beautiful friendship lasting two summers. Nice little twist at the end too 👍
I suppose there might be some Chekhov in my future reading. #LitsyAtoZ

The diary of a girl who was friends with Chekhov, the publisher determined to publish said diary, and the translator inspired to go in search of a lost Chekhov novel. Yes, please!

Penny_LiteraryHoarders I took this out of our library too , as a suggestion for book club! ☺️ 9y
RealLifeReading I really liked this one especially the way it was told from the translator's perspective as well 9y
LiteraryinPA Is this the same Alison Anderson who did the amazing translations of Muriel Barbery's books? If so, this is a must read! 9y

Went on a library tour today, collecting books for suggestions for the next book club gathering! 😀📚📚

Lindy 2 am at the cat's pyjamas is set at Christmas, but it's an uplifting pick if your group is in that sort of mood. 9y
SusanInTiburon Wow, hard to go wrong there! Great choices for a book club. 9y
Megabooks I hated ☹️ 9y
Penny_LiteraryHoarders Oh! Thanks for the comments! Hmmm - Christmas time? Maybe best for the cold months. I've also seen the mixed reactions for Days of Awe too, so hmmmm will float it to the group see if it's chosen. 9y
