Happy #Monday ! Enjoying some #words and a little #coffee before I go to #work in two hours. I started reading #FollowedByFrost by #CharlieNHolmberg for the first time yesterday. The start was perhaps a bit less compelling than I could've wanted, but I still like it🙃

pickWhile there were things I would've changed, like more romantic moments within the romance arc and the repairing of what felt like anachronistic language in places, I enjoyed this book overall. It's like Frozen meets Aladdin. Holmberg certainly has some unique ideas, and I loved the main character arc.
I'm still reading this book. Started it forever ago. I only stopped due to my own book revisions. But now I've picked it back up and will finish in the next couple of days. I really enjoy Holmberg's writing and storytelling. ❤️

Also making Smitha from a cold,cruel,vain, and selfish girl who didn't give a damn about anyone into a warm, kind- hearted,thoughtful, and selfless woman who found happiness,love and place that feels home after coming to terms with the things she have done and her curse. Who's journey to becoming a better person was so wonderful to read.

pickThis is a story of redemption told with a touch of magic. It reads a bit like a fairy tale but with more character development than a Grimm fairy tale. Smitha isn't a terrible person but she's not a particularly good one, either - and her behavior is typical teenager stuff upped a notch or two because she had a rather high opinion of herself. She's cruel to someone and the consequence is a curse that catches the attention of Death.
I have a problem: I can't stop buying books. 🙈 But this is a $1.99 today!!
