Ellis, the American. Jean-Pierre, the Frenchman. 2 men opposite sides, a woman torn between them. A deadly romantic triangle, a mission with global stakes. The Russians want to assassinate Masud, leader of the Afghan guerrilla force. A gripping, masterful plot which keeps you on the edge of your seat. Audio narration was excellent. Intriguing characters. It‘s a love story and a struggle for freedom. Recommended #Murder2020 8/8

Tove_Reads That‘s our February book 5y
EadieB @Tove_Reads I know and it‘s due back to the library so I‘m reading it today. On a Follett roll. 5y
Tove_Reads Is it good? I mean, of course it‘s good, but is it good for a Follett? 5y
EadieB @Tove_Reads Yes it is very good about Ross Perot and his helping to release Americans held hostage in Iran. A true story. 5y
Andrew65 I‘m a bit behind on these! 🙄 @Tove_Reads 5y

Another great Follett book! Starting in Paris, moving on to Afghanistan, and the dreadful war over there. Can you trust anyone? That is the question, and especially the answer, Jane, has a problem with. Life is hard, people die left and right, there are unfriendly soldiers and spies everywhere, and naturally two men who hate each other, but love the same woman...

EadieB Nice review! Can‘t wait to read it! 5y
Tove_Reads @EadieB Thanks! You‘ll love it! 5y

I am sadly back from my trip (already planning the next ones), but happy to be back on Litsy! This is the next Follett book we will read. I thought I owned it, but I don‘t, so just reserved it from the library, so is it ok if we start reading it in a week?

Tove_Reads Remind me again what other books I‘m supposed to read in December 🤔🤷🏼‍♀️😃 5y
Andrew65 Great to see you back, and even better to hear you had a great time. A week‘s time is good for me. This is one I do own. 5y
Tove_Reads @andrew65 Minding Frankie next? 5y

Tove_Reads @andrew65 Thanks! Need to get everything I can now. We also planned on reading 5y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Thanks, I‘d totally forgotten about that! Been an incredibly busy couple of weeks. 😴 5y
Tove_Reads @andrew65 I also have to read the next Marson, because the first one was great! And... I want to read the other Nicci French books. 5y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads We have that on the schedule for Librarything in January so I will be reading that then. 5y

Spent my morning snuggling and finishing this book! Follett has an incomparable way to tell a story. Even through the tedious parts, he somehow keeps me reading. I didn't love this as much as Century, but I was caught up with this turmoiled world. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I discovered Ken Follett last Christmas when I received The Century Trilogy from my niece, and I do loved those books that I had to check out his other stuff! And just as I thought, totally riveting after the first 100 pages!
