pickI wanted to like this one more than I did. It has a fantastic opening, intriguing premise & interesting world. The characters, however, are not as dynamic as I would have hoped. More importantly, the pace is slow…really slow & while I enjoyed reading it while I was reading, it was also easy to put the book down & not pick it up again. Still, it was good enough I kept reading & I am curious about what happens next. So, an okay YA fantasy.
