The Final Cut
The Final Cut | J. T. Ellison, Catherine Coulter
16 posts | 16 read | 7 to read
From Catherine Coulter, the #1 New York Times-bestselling author of the FBI Thriller series, and J.T. Ellison, bestselling author and ITW Award winner, comes the first book in a brilliant new international thriller series featuring a new hero: American-born, UK-raised Nicholas Drummond. Scotland Yards new chief inspector Nicholas Drummond is on the first flight to New York when he learns his colleague, Elaine York, the minder of the Crown Jewels for the Jewel of the Lion exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, was found murdered. Then the centerpiece of the exhibit, the infamous Koh-i-Noor Diamond, is stolen from the Queen Mothers crown. Drummond, American-born but raised in the UK, is a dark, dangerous, fast-rising star in the Yard who never backs down. And this case is no exception. Special Agents Lacey Sherlock and Dillon Savich from Coulters bestselling FBI series dont hesitate to help Drummond find the cunning international thief known as the Fox. Nonstop action and high stakes intensify as the chase gets deadly. The Fox will stop at nothing to deliver the Koh-i-Noor to the man who believes in its deadly prophecy. Nicholas Drummond, along with his partner, FBI Special Agent Mike Caine, lay it on the line to retrieve the diamond for Queen and country.

I just read this series last year, but I loved it so much that I decided to listen to it again. I love British mysteries/thrillers and this series is perfect for me. I wasn‘t going to add this series but changed my mind into the fourth book. Check this series out. I think you‘ll enjoy it. #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

The Queen of England agrees to loan the Crown Jewels to the NY Met for display. Despite excellent security the Koh-I-Noor is stolen. The FBI joins with Europe to regain the jewel. A fun, fast-paced read.

#newyearwhodis @ElenaBaer @monalyisha Turns our Ive read this one before but I didn‘t remember how it ended so I‘m counting it as a new read. 😁 I enjoyed it, lots of twists and I‘ll be reading more of this series.

monalyisha Ha! Sounds like my memory. 6y
CocoReads @monalyisha I guess that‘s one thing about being older-every book is new! 🤣🤣 6y
ElenaBaer That drives me crazy ! Especially when I remember a story plot and think I want to reread that and can‘t remember which book !!! 6y

#LitsyWalkers worked today, got home and went to this herbal thing at the downtown library with my daughter, I bought us pizza for dinner, she bought us chocolate chai after the program. I‘d have taken better pictures but it was dark all of the time we were out.

Not the greatest step day. I‘ll confess, not only did I not leave the house, I didn‘t even get dressed. I did, however, do laundry, dishes, clean out the fridge, take down the tree and then got to read with my daughters “fospice “ dog curled up at my feet. So not great for steps, but a good day anyway. #LitsyWalkers

Kaye It sounds like you were very active today so at least you got the blood pumping. 😊 6y
CocoReads @Kaye—I was, its been awhile since my day off actually got to be my day off so I didn‘t want to waste it. 6y
DarcysMom Sounds like a productive and good day. 😁 6y

Tamra You were productive enough! Good for you. 6y
Tamra Fospice? I admire and applaud and love people who can do that. I want to bawl just thinking about it, but I get it and is sooooo worthy. 6y
CocoReads @Tamra foster+hospice—despite his looks, he‘s really very sweet. But he‘s old and lumpy, if you look closely you can see patches where his fur is gone. He can‘t hear and doesn‘t have all his teeth, he‘s got dry eye and we aren‘t convinced he doesn‘t have both an eye and ear infection. But my daughter works for the Humane Society and I couldn‘t say no to “if I don‘t take him, they‘re going to put him down”, 👇 6y
CocoReads Our other dog is also old and from the Humane Society but is in better shape. Everyone wants puppies but I don‘t have time or patience for puppies. I‘ll take an older dog who‘s already house trained. They put her down as a foster but she‘s not giving him back until it actually is time to send him across that bridge. 6y
Tamra I am a weak, weak person and get attached immediately. They deserve such love and people to comfort them. 💜 6y
CocoReads I‘m a soft touch-i held firm to my one dog because we have a small house rule for years. But again, I couldn‘t say no to this one. My daughter takes care of him for the most part because he‘s hers, but she works 8-10 hour days and then has a 45 minute commute on top of it so frequently I wind up doing the feeding. 6y
Tamra @CocoReads lucky for him! 6y

Apologies for the f bomb—these are my favorite socks right now. It‘s been a long morning of running errands, trying to beat the snow (I failed), but I‘m home now and other than making dinner, this is my plan for the rest of the day!

Liatrek I got these for Christmas and just put them on today. I ❤️ them so much😍 6y
CocoReads @liatrek they‘re the best! 6y
CoverToCoverGirl I‘m having a pyjama party for one this entire weekend.. the only thing on my horizon are books and food, maybe some coconut rum and eggnog too! Happy reading! 6y

CocoReads @CoverToCoverGirl yep, I don‘t have to work tomorrow so it‘ll take a miracle to pry me out of the house. The snow is pretty, but that doesn‘t mean I want to go out in it. 6y
CoverToCoverGirl Exactly! .. where oh where is summer.. 6y
CocoReads And I don‘t even like heat. But I do like not sliding all over the roads. Plus the almost 2 block hike from the employee parking lot to the hospital at 0 dark thirty on workdays is no fun. 6y
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego 👌🏼 I have the same socks. I love them. 6y

Mehso-so

The first of currently five in a series featuring Nicholas Drummond, a Brit joining the FBI. Much better than The Cove which was Coulter's earlier attempt at this genre. But not good enough to keep reading the seriea.

I decided to give Catherine Coulter another try in the thriller genre since she had some help writing this one.

I really enjoyed this first novel in the Brit in the FBI series. I have been meaning to read this for the longest time and finally got around to it! I will definitely be reading the other novels in the series. I really liked the character of Nicholas Drummond and am ready to find out what other adventures he will have in the FBI!

I have read other Coulter books with Savage & Sherlock and enjoyed them. Mike & Drummond made a great new team. I'm glad I listened to this one as the accents really brought each character to life. 👍🏻

Airykah13 Agreed! I just finished this one today 8y

I was at getting my hair done last Saturday when I ran into my neighbor's sister. She saw me reading Chaos and recommended I try this author. She sent me the audiobook so I'm doing a combo of hard copy and audio. So far so good!

Despite all my bookish gifts, I'm reading a library book while I enjoy a cup of my new tea out of my new mug. Wishing all my fellow Littens a relaxing day of reading!

Iamlisa22 That mug ! Is adorable 8y
CocoReads @lamlisa22 thanks! All 4 of us got one--different designs, same style. And then we each got the hot beverage of our choice to go with them. Coffee for my hubs, tea for me, and cocoa for the girls. 8y
