#BookChain is a challenge I created last year on StoryGraph, and I've updated/shuffled the prompts for 2024!! I'm tagging the people who expressed interest last year, but anyone can play along if you like. Let me know if you have any questions, and feel free to tag me as you progress!!

peanutnine This is such a cool idea! This will make for a fun year long challenge. Joined! ☺️ 12mo
Booksblanketsandahotbeverage Joined :) This will help encourage me to finish The City of Stardust by its pub date… 12mo
CSeydel Oh yeah, book chain! I got absolutely stuck last year when I hit “takes place at a different time of year than the previous book” - my book hadn‘t taken place at one particular time of year and I didn‘t know how to proceed after that 😂 12mo
TheAromaofBooks @CSeydel - I guess I always think of it as being things that are either opposites or similarities, so you can bend it to make it work whichever direction it's supposed to go. So in that case, a different time of year when Last Book was pretty vague about the time of year, I would make New Book have a very distinctive time of year, like people really talk about it being summer or fall or Christmas or whatever haha 12mo
Deblovestoread Joined…I didn‘t think I needed another challenge but this sounds fun. 😍 12mo
gossamerchild This looks so fun. I also don't need any more challenges, so of course I signed up! 12mo
CSeydel @TheAromaofBooks Oh definitely! And … I thought of that, but I just never went back and added a Next Book 🤦🏻‍♀️ 12mo

TheAromaofBooks @Librarybelle @yourfavouritemixtape @claudiuo @PuddleJumper @peanutnine @Booksandblanketsandahotbeverage @CSeydel @Deblovestoread @gossamerchild @RainyDayReading - I like challenges that work with books you're already reading, so hopefully this will be a fun, low-pressure way to see if books you're reading match for the next link!!! 12mo
julieclair Love this challenge! Going to StoryGraph to join now. Thanks for bringing it back for another year. I got stuck in 2023 due to my own strict “rule-follower” interpretation of the prompts, but for 2024 I‘ll just plan to (or at least attempt to!) be more flexible. 12mo
Kristy_K Love this challenge! I just joined. 🙂 12mo
