4 posts | 1 read | 8 to read
An epic quartet of novels telling the dramatic tale of Llewelyn, the first true Prince of Wales. Llewelyn has a burning vision: one Wales, united against the threat of the English. But, before he can realise his dream, Llewelyn must tackle enemies closer to home. Llewelyn's three brothers all stand in the way of his ambition to create an independent state. The best-loved of the three, David, was brought up at the English court. Restless, charming and torn between loyalties, David is fated to be his brother's undoing. Despite the support of Llewelyn's beloved wife, Eleanor, Llewelyn finds himself trapped in a situation where the only solution is his own downfall and a tragic death... Here, in one volume, is the entire saga of the Brothers of Gwynedd, including: SUNRISE IN THE WEST THE DRAGON AT NOONDAY THE HOUNDS OF SUNSET AFTERGLOW AND NIGHTFALL

I found this historical fiction of Llewelyn of Wales at the bargain bookstore for $4. What really caught my eye is how worn and well-read it was compared to the books next to it.

I've been wanting to read & learn more about Wales, and my first fictional book about Wales arrived today! Let the reading adventure begin! 📚🐉

TheAromaofBooks My dad really enjoyed this book, although he said he sometimes got bogged down in names haha I've only ever read the author's Brother Cadfael books, but even those are full of history & intriguing information. 4y
wordslinger42 @TheAromaofBooks Hopefully, I can keep track of all the names 😅 And I'll have to look up those books as well! 4y
TheAromaofBooks They are really excellent historical mysteries - they definitely are best read in order, though, as the characters build over time!! 4y
wordslinger42 @TheAromaofBooks Sounds like I have several more books to add to my already teetering TBR pile 😂😂 4y
TheAromaofBooks New additions daily! 😂 4y
