I found this book through Litsy. And to say that it was actually scary to read is huge, especially coming from me. As far as I remember I haven't been scared while reading any book. It is very well written and gives a ton of insights into how everything works. I'd love to go into details but that'd be spoiling the book. Specific details of a number of cases by the Warrens were mind-blowing. Do share your thoughts/experience in comments

This book goes through the history of the Warrens and how they got into demonology. It also goes into some detail with several of their more notable cases. I liked the parts where Ed and Lorraine were expressing their views, they came across as true believers. I know there is conversation about whether the cases in this book are hoaxes, but I believe that there is so much unexplained in the world. I thought this was a good book and recommend it.

This a TBR book, because I went with a friend to Lorraine Warren's house for an event where she talked about her and Ed's battles against demons and ghosts, and then we toured her basement full of items (including the original Annabelle doll, which is actually a Raggady Ann doll) and I got a signed copy of this book. I'll read it someday!

I think enjoyment of this book depends on the readers belief in the supernatural. The book is heavily biased, as one would expect of a biography of the Warrens. I still do not believe, but I enjoyed finding out more about the lives of this extraordinary couple and the cases are they were involved with. A good read for fans of The Conjuring franchise.

This was somewhere between a so-so & a pick rating. I'm always skeptical of these types of books, which of course doesn't help with my rating. There were also some dull parts that somehow read like a boring textbook about demonic activity. What I did find really interesting were when the Warren's looked back at prior cases, such as Amityville, Enfield, the Annabelle doll, the story that inspired the Conjuring film, & the possession stories.

This marks my second #SpookyListen of the season so far! It‘s a bit light on details- and seems to only use the Warrens themselves as a resource... but it does deliver some goosebump-inducing chills- perfect for #AudioColoring and #AudioDecorating

Starting this one. I'm not necessarily a disbeliever, but I'm certainly skeptical when it comes to tales of the supernatural when promoted as true. That being said, I do find Ed & Lorraine Warren to be fascinating, especially when so many people praise the Warren's for helping with their demonic problems. Although I'm expecting a lot of religious overtones, I think this is a perfect listen for October.

I can honestly say this book scared me. But a very interesting read.

Finished this one last night so I'm counting it towards my #MarchReads ? I really enjoyed the stories of Ed and Lorraine's cases but I found a lot of the book read a little too textbook for me. It was still really interesting to read about some of the things they have done and witnessed. I think a little less "lecture" and less repetiveness would have made the book a bit easier to read. Worth giving it a shot though.

This picture actually sums up my weekend pretty nicely, although I'm almost caught up on This is Us now. Long weekends are for nachos, binge-watching and Panda Jammies 😄 seriously, they are ridiculously comfy and fuzzy so they are only coming off long enough to get washed 🐼

I'll also be reading....going to finish my #currentread and hopefully one more before the end of the month!!!

What a great way to start off the fall season! This book really was more informative than anything else. They used specific examples of the Warrens‘ cases and popular cases that are well known to illustrate the validity of their research. I found this to be terrifying, but also interesting to learn about. I‘m even more of a believer in the spiritual world now.

Lots of different cases of The Warrens are reflected on. Not too scary, but there were a few parts where I had to sleep with the lights on!

30% in and I hope this book picks up a bit. A lot of repeated ideas and narratives. So far only Annabelle and the Amytiville horror are described in bit of details. Now into the Conjuring chapter.

Based on the reviews & blurbs I've read, I thought this book would be scarier than it was. The author only went into detail on two cases The Warrens dealt with & glossed over some others. I was hoping it would be like the courses or talks The Warrens gave; I think that would've made the book more interesting.

I'm late in starting #24in48 thanks to a Disneyland "hangover." I'm about 100 pages into The Demonologist. It's not as scary as I thought it would be. I suspect I had it built up in my head because of the reviews!

My stack for #24in48. I'm about 20 pages into The Demonologist. I'm kinda scared to read it. I also have some ebooks to read.

I am excited about this. All I need now is for the power to go out.
