Malorie was that satisfying conclusion I didn't even know I was waiting for. This follow up novel to Malerman's Bird Box was a little more low key than it's predecessor, yet it still had some creepy elements to it. The story itself, while less intense than the original, kept me glued to the page til the last word was read. I liked the way the author took the main storyline into the future and how he allowed for things to play out.
4 stars.
When I heard there was going to be a sequel to Bird Box I was ecstatic and a bit skeptical. Bird Box was magnificent, it was scary, thrilling, heartwrenching, and beautiful all at the same time. I was excited to know more about this world overrun with creatures we couldn't look at but on the other hand would the sequel ever live up to the original. That it did and more! Malorie kept me on the edge of my seat and I loved every second of it!
Well... he did it... Josh Malerman did not disappoint.
You know how it goes, when you hear there's a follow-up to one of your favorites, and immediately you get excited, but then quickly worry comes creeping in.. “will it be as good as the first?“ YES folks, it is... it's as good as the first. In some ways, I found it more satisfying than Bird Box.
This is one 2020 read you don't want to miss folks! #mustread #highlyrecommend #pageturner
Alright Malerman, don't let me down!
