To be honest, there‘s more than #ThreeWiseMen I‘m this book about the Lunar Society. Led by Erasmus “Charles‘ grandfather” Darwin, the Lunar Society of Birmingham was formed from a group of amateur experimenters, tradesmen and artisans who met and made friends in the Midlands in the 1760s.

The Lunar Men | Jenny Uglow

The Lunar Society were a group of young men who met regularly to discuss their radical new ideas, and between them, they kick-started the Industrial Revolution. Founded by Eramsus Darwin, other members included Matthew Boulton & James Watt, who developed the beam engine. Crofton Pumping Station has the oldest beam engine still operating in its original function in the world. These young men really were #TalkinBoutARevolution
