So this was on the list of amazon's $1.50 ebooks sale. It's about an Amish woman that meets a Cuban guy and they fall in love. Here's what's funny: I live in Chester Cty, Pa, next door to Lancaster Cty, famous for their Amish community. My parents are from Cuba. So this is one of the most personally entertaining things I've ever come across. I can't stop laughing as I read this thing, which is not my usual thing. But I can't help myself. 😂🇨🇺🐄

Sraexx I'm from Pennsylvania (the other side, almost Ohio) and I am married into a Cuban family! PA + Cuba = awesome. 7y
Aleida @Sraexx they end up moving to Miami! Can you imagine an Amish woman in Miami? 7y
Sraexx @Aleida definitely not! After 12 years in Florida, it's still hard for me! Culture shock! 7y

Pickpick

3.25/5 ⭐️️. Recommended, but with qualifiers. Not my favorite by Sarah Price (I liked An Amish Buggy Ride a lot more), but a worthwhile read. First book in the series and it is mostly spent setting up the series. From what I understand, it (and next 2 books) were originally self pubbed, and it shows (someone get a Sarah a thesaurus! And show her how to end a book non-abruptly!), so keep that in mind if you read (review continued in comments below)

GlitteryOtters The premise & some happenings are implausible (yeah, right, Amish parents will let their 20 year old unmarried daughter go off to town with a practical stranger Englisher?!) but, as always, I love how she paints her Amish characters as distinct individuals with unique & interesting personalities. This skill (and low price of her books 😜) keeps me coming back. Too many writers make the Amish like sheep or saints, Price, thankfully, doesn't do this 8y
GlitteryOtters Her characterization of the non-Amish are a little lacking in depth, and her MMC is a bit problematic in his perception of FMC, "other"-izing her & placing her on some pedestal as perfect & pure when she's just a real girl. Hopefully she is doing this to set up future plot points/points of strife? Bought on Audible for a couple $. As always, Amy McFadden is skilled narrator, but needs to dial back her performance by about 20%. A little too manic! 8y
