And in keeping with my Philly theme and convoluted book/film thoughts #GraceKelly played the role of a Philadelphia socialite in the film High Society, which was loosely based on real life socialite Helen Hope Montgomery Scott. (Original film was Philadelphia Story). Tagged book was written by her granddaughter, Janny Scott, about her father, Robert Montgomery Scott. Book was gifted to me from the wonderful @DivineDiana ❤️ High up on my #TBR

Ardrossan is an estate near my home. If you ever saw the movie, The Philadelphia Story, either version (one with Katherine Hepburn or one with the Grace Kelly), the character Tracy Lord was based on Hope Montgomery Scott who lived here. The author is a member of the family and just published a memoir about her father. She discussed her book at the estate in an intimate setting. These are some paintings in the House. It was magnificent!

Dragon Love both movies but I confess the Cary Grant/ Katherine Hepburn version is my favourite. I had no idea that Tracy was based on a real person! So cool 😎 5y
