Meh. It was fine. There are several inconsistencies between stories, and even within stories (a secondary character in the last story is described by another character as six feet tall and then by the narrator as “not that tall” - EDIT: I‘m conflating two characters, so this one is on me, but the rest stand) which bothers me. Interesting premise but it felt more like a writing exercise or character sketches to me.

I probably sound like a broken record at this point. I think the author sold a lot of mediocre vampire stories, because vampires are in. This is not about vampires. This is about human beings. Former secret agent human beings. But still human. I enjoyed this very much, and would recommend it.

CatLass007 Don‘t get me wrong, I enjoy urban fantasy. Give me Patricia Briggs or Faith Hunter any day. 1y

Loved this so much. 4 short stories about Anne. Now I need a full length book on her back story. This was awesome. Charlaine Harris never fails me, her writing is crazy comfortable.
