My #bookhaul as of late from thrifting and Book Outlet's recent sale. This weekend, I need to find time to tetris these into my already full bookshelves. ?

“A twisty, compulsive thriller full of jolting shocks and startling secrets involving two sisters, a disappearance, a double murder, and a reporter determined to find the truth from the bestselling author of Local Girl Missing, Last Seen Alive, and Do Not Disturb.”
Given all the praise for this book (see my blurb from a few days ago), I was thoroughly underwhelmed reading it.
No twists, no real suspense. It was pretty clear to me why Heather shot those two people and the supposed to be "shocking" last chapter was no shock, nor a surprise.
Finally completed a @goodreads #goodreads reading challenge! Failed the last three years 😩😂 #goodreads2019challenge
I really enjoyed this book. Different angle from Detective vs Baddie story which was good 👍
Go this lovely email from #Penquin as they invited me via #netgalley to read it and I did so they are also giving me a free paperback copy of it!!!
Think I am getting recognised as a reviewer especially by #Penquin as they keep inviting me to read books via #netgalley I have had 3 books so far this year from them!!! (I did have a few last year but not so many in a short time period) 🤞 this is leading somewhere.

Very good. Gripping and exhilarating to the very end. This story deals with a young girls disappearance and the lasting effects on not just the family but a whole community. Loved how the story twist and turned and that right till the end you are surprised as there is a twist on the twist. Thank you #Penguin for inviting me via #Netgalley to read this.

So, this is an advanced pdf copy from NetGalley...
The starting until middle, is a bit boring and dull for me...
Middle to end was really interesting...
It starts with a murder and a young woman in a coma . Jessica is asked to write a piece on the incident only to find that she knows the family from childhood and is torn between her job and her past friendship. There is a history as Helens sister flora disappeared from a fairground when she was young. The book goes between the past and the present but is really easy to keep pace with. A page turner as every page leaves you with another question
