The Three Billy Goats Gruff
The Three Billy Goats Gruff | Public Domain
1 post | 2 read
This classic story is a favorite with toddlers, who will cheer on the three clever billy goats who outsmart a mean troll. With plenty of repetition, this adventure is perfect for reading aloud and for joining in, and a satisfying ending provides a reassuring touch.

The Three Billy Goats Gruff re-told by Stephen Carpenter is a TL book. This picture book has been told by word of mouth for decades. I think this book would be good as a RL. I think younger students would enjoy to hear the story of the Billy Goats. #LAE3414sp19

UDL 3.3 is perfect for picture books such as this one. This story allows students to see everything as it happens. The pictures in this case tell the story just as much as the words. Having the students look at the pictures would tell the story even if the words were not present.

ESOL 30 goes well with the lesson plan I have posted above. The student would be able to draw and color the troll and the goats. This would allow them to understand fully what those creatures really are.

DrSpalding This is classic children‘s literature that all students should be exposed to. This works well with storytelling and dramatic reenactment. 6y
