This Book Will Save Your Life
This Book Will Save Your Life | A. M. Homes
Since her debut in 1989, A. M. Homes has been among the boldest and most original voices of her generation, acclaimed for the psychological accuracy and unnerving emotional intensity of her storytelling. Her ability to explore how extraordinary the ordinary can be is at the heart of her touching and funny new novel, her first in six years. This Book Will Save Your Life is a vivid, uplifting, and revealing story about compassion, transformation, and what can happen if you are willing to lose yourself and open up to the world around you.

I love books like this-where the main character realizes we only have one life to live. It reminded me a little bit of A Man Called Ove, so if you liked that one you will like this one!!

It‘s Day 5 of the @bookriot #Riotgrams Challenge! Today‘s prompt: books & pastries! 🍩🥮🧁

Lcsmcat Your cover is really different from the one on the Litsy listing. I might have to read a book that can encompass both images! 5y
Liberty @Lcsmcat This is a UK edition that someone gave me. The US covers are indeed wildly different. 🍩 5y

I haven't done a challenge for a while and i can't promise that I will keep focussed but i thought I'd post this book which i enjoyed about a man made lonely by wealth in los angeles who suddenly finds himself exposed to real life to brilliant literary effect - i have her orange winner in a pile somewhere waiting to read so maybe ill dig it out.

BarbaraBB Good one! I really liked this book. 6y
Billypar Good pick! I read my first Homes earlier this year, May We Be Forgiven, and it still might be my favorite of the year. I can't wait to read more of hers! 6y
Cinfhen Well I‘m certainly smitten by the cover 🥰 6y

I nearly went for mu umpteenth mention of east of eden but instead went for this story of a man on the edge of a breakdown in LA, comic and well written so not sure why i haven't moved on to her other book yet.

Liberty @Matilda Have you read The Mistress's Daughter? Highly underrated imo. 8y
Matilda ALL of her books! Read The Safety of Objects in high school and as soon as I finished I reread it. Have bought every book the day it's released since. 💙📚 8y
