I‘ve been sick for the past few days and today I‘m starting to feel better so it is a perfect time to just lay in bed and rest u til I am completely better and back to work. #5of2025
This book absolutely gutted me and I finished it with sobs wracking my body! Saying that, I loved it… so raw and emotional that I couldn‘t get enough! Highly recommend this to anyone who needs/wants a good cry!
Starting this evening though I know it is going to absolutely wreck me!
A poignant and emotionally charged novel that explores themes of love, loss, and the enduring impact of war. The story follows the intertwined lives of two main characters, Chaos and Ella-each grappling with their past and the scars of their experiences. The gut wrenching ending had me having to wipe my tears so I could see thru my teary vision! Must read!!
I didn‘t know this book was a romance novel when I selected it. I‘m usually not into romance, but this story was good. It was certainly a tear jerker. I read this book because it fit a prompt in a book challenge that I participate in, otherwise I might not have picked it up. I‘m glad to be in the challenge because it broadens my horizons.
Sitting on a cruise ship, sobbing. Thank God I finished this on our balcony instead of a public space, I would look like a mess. 5⭐️
I am an emotional puddle on the floor. HOLY MOLY! Can't say it any other way. Each chapter begins with a letter either written to Chaos from Ella or to Ella from Chaos providing a window into these two characters separately from the primary dialogue. When Beckett shows up at Ella's home, the reader knows he is Chaos, but she does not. What a roller coaster of emotions. It is a “romance“ but so much more.

Finally, my first five-star rating (not counting my re-read/listen of The Grace Year). I was wondering if I'd become too jaded, too unfeeling, to really let a story get under my skin anymore. This book not only got under my skin, it even made me cry, It was actually quite heartbreaking. ⇣⇣⇣
Started my first book of 2020....its for an online book club....I've heard I should have a box of tissues nearby..
So, it's taken me a while to decide if I wanted to read this one. After hearing loads of praise for THE LAST LETTER, I decided to jump. I've been warned though that this may be a tear jerker. I think I'm ok with that. I need a book to give me all the feels. How about you? Have you read this one yet? What are YOUR thoughts on it?

The writing quality is top notch, with relatable protagonists and supporting characters. Yet the narrative overall is too much. There's an unnecessary, gut-wrenching twist near to the end. What happens before that point is angst-ridden enough. Adding to it is a step too far, adding gratuitous drama. It's a shame.
The ending is satisfying in a way the loose ends are tied. That aspect I'm happy with and as a conclusion, the story has stayed with me.
If ever there‘s a book I could get lost in and connect with so much, it‘s this. I was told this would be emotional but I wasn‘t expecting to feel so much. I wept the last 50 pages and will definitely have an emotional hangover tomorrow. Rebecca Yarros writes in a way that I felt the characters inside me. All of them. Ella. Ryan. Chaos. Beckett. Maise. Colt. I felt a part of each of them as I uncovered their story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is not usually my genre, but the synopsis grabbed me. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. This will give you all the feels and have a few tissues handy. This was the perfect palate cleanser for me.

My feelings after just finishing this:
• Was that last 10% necessary? Really?
• You keep rooting for the main characters to find their happy ending, and just when you think everything's going to be OK, you get blindsided.
• All that heartache, suffering, and loss for just that one person?
• I skimmed through the rest after that last big thing happened. I just couldn't get over it.
• This would have been a solid 3.5⭐ if not for that last part.
