This is a companion book to Will Grayson, Will Grayson. In WGWG, Tiny Cooper has written a musical about his gay life and produces/performs it as the school‘s spring musical. Hold Me Closer is the script for the musical. The script is hilarious and it really shows the audience what it is like to be Tiny Cooper. I would totally get tickets to see it if someone put the lyrics to music and produced it 😍 I thought this book was very clever.

I‘m looking forward to starting this tonight! Thanks @Megabooks for letting me know it existed! My daughter claims dibs on it when I‘m done ❤️

Hold Me Closer is one of the funniest books I've read and it is a new favorite for me! Hold Me Closer follows Tiny Cooper, a gay black teen who finds friends and acceptance in the first act(it is written throughout stage directions and dialogue with songs) and in the second, tries to find 'love' through many ex-boyfriends. This book is a companion to Will Grayson, Will Grayson(Levithan and John Green) This book is hilarious and a great light-read!

My Pi k for @Cinfhen 's #lyricalapril #bittersweetsymphony prompt. Hold me Closer is the musical from Will Grayson, Will Grayson written in full. It's wonderful. I picked up this copy and got it signed last year at the Brisbane Bookfest. (The cover is sooooo shiny I couldn't make the photo work.)

I knew that Levithan's style of writing is different and kind of weird from other writers but this one was super weird and I kind of don't know what to think about. Well, still it was a nice chance to meet my favourite characters from Will Grayson, will grayson. :) #lgbt #weirdbook #davidlevithan

If you loved Will Grayson, Will Grayson, or just feel like reading a big, gay musical with a lot of heart, this is for you. Tiny is big and gay But his love life is very confusing for him. This is his musical interpretation of his life. It's fabulous!!

Brisbane is a bit of a cultural backwater, but we do have a writers festival in September each year. I'm totally stoked that the 'Love YA' portion of the festival is featuring Jay Kristoff, Amie Kaufmann and David Levithan. I'm also pretty stoked I have an appropriately aged child I can drag along, so I can pretend I'm going for her, when in reality I'm waaaay more excited than she is. Squeeee!!

Highly recommend but only for fans of Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan. This is a supplemental book of the musical that one of the characters works on during the novel. However, it is just as brilliant and heartbreaking and fabulous as that character, Tiny Cooper. I was making up melodies and singing along to it, and imagining the ridiculous choreography. ❤️

Everyone is excited about a boy wizard today but I am geeking out on Tiny Cooper tonight!
