The Maze Runner Complete Collection
The Maze Runner Complete Collection | James Dashner
All four books in the pulse-pounding Maze Runner series! When the doors of the lift crank open, the only thing Thomas remembers is his first name. But he's not alone. He's surrounded by boys who welcome him to the Glade - a walled encampment at the centre of a bizarre and terrible stone maze. But the maze is just the beginning ...

Okay, don‘t judge me please! I am a 12 year old who has gotten an awakening and suddenly wants to read the maze runner, divergent, the hunger games, and more like this. I‘m trading it for the first time and I fell like I‘m a bit late but I was never fond of violence and I thought that this would be like that. I haven‘t seen the movie either yet so NO SPOILERS PLEASE! Thank you! 😊

Can't remember which Litten exactly recommended this game, @DuckOfDoom or @Maike or ?

We've played it a lot since Christmas Day. I especially like the "muteness" of the game. Players are not allowed to talk to each other.

Best game ever!!!

Tamra What is the age range? 7y
julesG @Tamra it says 8+, 1-8 players and 3-15 minutes per round. 7y
Andrea4 Is it aimed towards kids or can just adults enjoy it too? 7y

Tamra @julesG 👏🏾👏🏾 I‘ll add it to our wish list. 7y
julesG @Andrea4 It's suitable for all ages. You can adjust the difficulty level by adding basic rules bit by bit or by leaving them out. Adults might enjoy a completely mute game whereas we're still talking to each other about who does what next. It's a game where you have to cooperate, you need to work together. Great lesson for my kids. 7y
julesG @Tamra Do that. It's truly a great game. 7y
buecherwurm I played it with my work game group and I loved it! We had a lot of fun and it was much more difficult than I expected, out of three rounds we lost one. 7y
Maike Must have been @DuckOfDoom, I‘ve never heard of it 😅 7y
DuckOfDoom Ohhh I am so Happy you like it 😄😄😄😄 7y
julesG @DuckOfDoom most importantly, my daughter likes it. 7y

Finishing up this collection today. It has its moments but honestly I prefer the movies. I have a feeling I‘m going to have nothing but bad things to say about The Kill Order.

For real I don't think anyone doesn't hate this.

Ones I hate most: Maze Runner (I hate more then just the movie cover), Fault in Our Stars by John Green, and Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

Which movie book covers get under your skin?

sprainedbrain The Great Gatsby (and I love Leonardo DiCaprio) and The Light Between Oceans. Annoying!! 8y
Anescapewithinthepages @sprainedbrain great gatsby is a good one. 8y

I finish most books I choose to pick up, but my pick for #didntlikestillfinished is the entire Maze Runner series. I had heard good things and student asked me to review the first two with him before he took reading quizzes, so I started reading. Then I just had to finish the series to see if it got better. It never did turn into what I was hoping to read.

#MarchintoReading

Reviewsbylola It's pretty impressive to read an entire series you don't like! 8y
EmilyChristine I read the first book then asked my friend who was reading the series if I should keep going. She said no. She wasn't a fan either. I learned after reading the Twilight series that sometimes it just does not get better. And it's ok to stop. 8y
Daisey @Reviewsbylola @EmilyChristine They were fairly quick YA reads, which helped, and I didn't completely hate them. A large part of my determination to finish these, and various other books, has come from wanting to be able to discuss them with students and recommend them to readers for whom they are a good choice. 8y
EmilyChristine That's really great that you finished them for the student. My main issue was the fact that the other kids never would explain anything to the main character but then get mad at him for not knowing something, which they should have told him. I've read several books just so I could have an honest opinion or know what it's about. 8y

This is my favorite book series ever. The books keep you I. Suspense and just when you think there's some sort of resolution Dashner throws more at you. This book is definitely one of the best. This is the story of Thomas and how he needs to overcome several obstacles thrown at him to be at peace. I definitely recommend this book.

I had withheld my judgement until I finished the series, and when it came to the close, it was "meh". There were parts I liked, but I had a hard time getting into it, and by the end I had vaguely enjoyed the concept but not the content. If you want to read or, go ahead, but I could recommend better.
