A quiet, intimate novel by Danish author Ida Jessen, translated by Martin Aitken. Told mainly in diary entries, the book chronicles the life of a woman after her husband dies. Starting in the 1920s & going over the course of the years, primarily in the small rural environment of Thyregod, this book doesn't make a splash but leaves you with many beautifully-observed moments & feelings. Much like life itself.
