#Teenangst

On other platforms I've seen many authors and readers complaining that so many of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ books are “issue“ books. Where the BIPOC characters cant just exist as they are are and not be the reason for the story.

This year, we challenge you to find these non-issue books and remember that teens and YA don't always have to be about Angst.

Tardy to the #yawednesday party, sorry! This book has some good laughs among the stories. Current teens might goggle at the stuff the writer got up to as a 90‘s teen in NYC, but I remember some of the fads and such he talks about.

Also a good discussion book about mental health, as the author spent time in a mental care facility and eventually committed suicide. Good talking points about the signs of depression in the stories and (cont)

ravenlee what depression “looks like.” 6y
