Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia follows the Pevensie children's second trip to Narnia. They are drawn back by the power of Susan's horn, blown by Prince Caspian. The Prince has fled into the woods to escape his uncle, Miraz, who has usurped the throne. Narnia, as the children knew it, is no more. More than 1,000 years have passed and is now under the control of Wicked King Mirax. Their castle is in ruins, while all Narnians have retreated so far within themselves. Could a desperate gamble by Peter save Narnia from the evil?

1. As a little kid, I was very upset when the first full blown casinos opened in my state, due to legislation allowing them a few years prior. Yeah, I was a weird kid.
2. Bookstores, sadly. I can't stay out of them when I travel.
3. I loved the Chronicles of Narnia and read them numerous times as a child. I had no idea they were religious, LOL.

LitStephanie @SamAnne I did not find out until college when we reviewed some of Lewis's beautiful Christian apologetics prose in Philosophy class. Then of course it all clicked with the Aslan figure and his murder and resurrection. . . Duh! 4y

Story 2 in the Chronicles of Narnia follows the Pevensies into Narnia a second time where we meet some new characters. This one seemed to flow a bit better than book one, as the sibling squabbling was reduced. The overall story was fun, as well as the new beings we meet, such as Reepicheep, a bold and courageous mouse who is always willing to engage in some fisticuffs, if the need arises. We also learn that time passage in Narnia is different ⬇️

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick than in our human world, so while we are a year later in England, we are far into the future in Narnia. Overall a pick, though I would argue that the writing within is a bit formal and/or dated, especially for children, and we see again that the young men fight and the young ladies must be protected and kept from danger.

Also, reading about a dwarf named Trumpkin after 4 years of The Donald resulted in the above image throughout. 😆 4y

I am a silly person and thought #24in48 started today. Did a bit of audiocleaning then audiopuzzling this morning because I mislaid the book I meant to read.
I enjoyed Prince Caspian, even if a bit more violent and many of the characters of Narnia felt a bit more flat (but w/ excellent names!). I really enjoyed the Lemony Snicket meets Mr Rogersness of TLTW&TW and there was less of it in this book, clearly written for slightly older children.
