And with that, I'm done with the African Immortals series. Although I think Due does an excellent---and creative---job of portraying the complicated relationship between parents and their children as they grow into adulthood, many times throughout this novel I found the characters' actions to be inconsistent or their motivations to be confusing, and the ending doesn't really satisfy me. It's possible that reading Joplin's Ghost might help a bit.
ImperfectCJ I just realized, I've read so many of her books already, I'm within fairly easy reach of being a Tananarive Due completist (at least with her novels). 3y
