I think Candice Fox is really taking over as my favourite thriller/mystery writer. Her books are so character driven and dark, that you can‘t help but watch in awe as the story unfolds in front of you. It seems like she explores the dark side of people with ease. Her stories all have good flow, amazing twists, and characters that keep you coming back. And just the premise on the cover? Sold. ❤️

I found that the authors writing style was one that eased you quite easily into the book. This is the third book in the series it is the sort of book that you can get engrossed into and find yourself not wanting to put it down. The characters in the novel are very well described and makes the novel have more depth too it and helps to ingrain the characters and the story into your mind even when you are away from it.
Another fabulous, gripping tale in the Crimson Lake saga. I didn‘t pick the end which is always a good thing in crime fiction. And a fabulous audio version. Hope there‘s a fourth novel coming!
January‘s books. Not a bad start to the year!

This third instalment sees a young boy disappear from a locked hotel room. This was another mostly enjoyable book in the series, with a good storyline - I just wish I didn‘t find Amanda quite so tiresome as I do. 4🌟
Thanks to NetGalley & publishers, Random House UK / Cornerstone, for the opportunity to review an ARC.
I can‘t believe that I have never read any Candice Fox books before! This was amazing! It‘s the 3rd in the series but covers the backstory so well that it doesn‘t matter if you haven‘t read the earlier books. In fact I have already sourced them and plan to read them ASAP. These flawed main characters are perfectly believable and as the crime is discovered and ultimately solved I found myself cheering them on. I can‘t wait to read more. #NetGalley
