Rage: The Courtney | Wilbur Smith
Pickpick

Book #6 in the Courtney family series. I read these books first over 20 years ago, and while I still find them enjoyable I am not as naive as I was then. The racism, white elitism, white supremacy, colonialism, etc stand out so much more now. A quote from the last page “There are heroes and there are monsters, but most of us are ordinary mortals caught up in events too turbulent for any of us.”

Rage: The Courtney | Wilbur Smith

'There are heroes and there are monsters, but most of us are ordinary mortals caught up in events too turbulent for any of us. Perhaps when the battle is over, all we will inherit will be the ashes of a once beautiful land." He turned away from her and walked into the entrance of the embassy without looking back.
