Apparently this week was all about the audio. Both books were really great and I think that the audio really enhanced the experience.

Goal this week is to finish Thistlefoot and hopefully Outlawed if there's any time left. I'm behind on my self imposed reading timeline for the month so I'd like to catch up and get back on track.

Ocean's Eleven (2001) meets harder sci fi. The heist in this did not disappoint but there was also a lot to unpack about genetic engineering and slave/power dynamics. This was my commute audiobook but by about 60% I was looking for excuses to keep listening outside of that.

I thought I‘d have trouble with this letter but actually found a few books I could‘ve used. The tagged is a SciFi novel, 1st in a trilogy so far, about a heist run by a man whose brain was genetically manipulated before birth to become a kind of super computer. Practically blackmailed into moving a group of warships across an enemy wormhole, he brings together a disparate group to achieve the impossible.

Bk8 of November & Bk1 of #20in4 #readathon is done! I actually read this before but it was more skim read at the time coz brainfog meant I didn‘t grasp the science well, and this is full of it. As well as being one of the best heist novels I‘ve read! Is #SpaceHeist a genre? It bloody should be. I loved the gang formed to pull the con off, I love the con itself & I really enjoyed the science this time around. Needs repeat readsğŸ‘� #BookspinBingo 👇

Bk14 of May & Bk3 of #20in4 #readathon is done! The 1st in The Quantum Evolution series,it‘s yet another richly detailed SciFi book.I‘ve been so impressed with the caliber of SF that‘s being released lately,they‘ve really surpassed the humanoid view of the universe & advanced the science basis of fiction. This one was led by a genetically modified conman who‘s able to throw his brain into becoming a “supercomputerâ€� to pull off a galactic heist.👇

Halfway through Bk3 of #20in4 #readathon with one more day left to go. There‘s some fantastic SciFi coming out lately, so imaginative & wide reaching with a really strong scientific basis. It‘s brilliant to see that there‘s a move away from just a humanoid type population in the universe of the old SF into more diverse & clever types of intelligent life out amongst the stars. I‘d love to maybe write my own SciFi some day🤔ğŸª�

Bk1 from today‘s #bookmail is the 1st book in The Quantam Evolution series, it‘s about an engineered quantum man who runs from the dangerously addictive quantum senses & now drifts round the Galaxy, working as a con man. When a client offers him a job promising big money, he must take the risk of using his senses to pull it off, with the added danger of possibly starting an interstellar war. Sounds highly intriguing🤔

Heist SF.

Has interesting things to say about religious awe but it's trying to be a fun heist SF not literary fiction so it doesn't go very far.

Extremely well done, believable world building.

Singularity Cyberpunk, caged gods and their obligate worshipers, a satisfyingly complex con job and grand heist, and an epic space battle. The execution is outstanding, the pacing is excellent, and the characters have distinct and interesting voices. On top of all this are meditations on what it means to be human, from the view of four engineered lines of humans, and the AI that believes it's the reincarnation of Saint Matthew.
