The Diamond of Darkhold
The Diamond of Darkhold: The Fourth Book of Ember | Jeanne DuPrau
It’s been several months since Lina and Doon escaped the dying city of Ember and, along with the rest of their people, joined the town of Sparks. Now, struggling through the harsh winter aboveground, they find an unusual book. Torn up and missing most of its pages, it alludes to a mysterious device from before the Disaster, which they believe is still in Ember. Together, Lina and Doon must go back underground to retrieve what was lost and bring light to a dark world. In the fourth Book of Ember, bestselling author Jeanne DuPrau juxtaposes yet another action-packed adventure with powerful themes about hope, learning, and the search for truth. From the Hardcover edition.

A fun, easy read. It was a fitting end to the Ember series. I think the themes of light and darkness were prevalent. This was not only in the physical sense but also in the contrast of characters. This was the ultimate reemergence of man coming back into the light of knowledge after the darkness of the great Disaster. This is my May #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks

This has been my absolute favorite in the series so far. I LOVE how them returning to Ember is a scary and unfamiliar experience. I loved watching Doon and Lina's relationship develop. I think the things that was most exciting is what the diamond actually was. There are so many things in this world that we all take for granted. And it's fun to read about people who are experiencing these things for the first time! #catsoflitsy

Book 3, I liked this book. It was a good ending to the series. I was sad they didn't actually find a city of gold. Hoping that somewhere they had built up. The ending was tied in a nice little bow.
