The Vampire Armand
The Vampire Armand | Anne Rice
See the difference, read #1 bestselling author Anne Rice in Large Print* About Large PrintAll Random House Large Print editions are published in a 16-point typefaceIn the latest installment of The Vampire Chronicles, Anne Rice summons up dazzling worlds to bring us the story of Armand - eternally young, with the face of a Botticelli angel. Armand, who first appeared in all his dark glory more than twenty years ago in the now-classic Interview with the Vampire, the first of The Vampire Chronicles, the novel that established its author worldwide as a magnificent storyteller and creator of magical realms. Now, we go with Armand across the centuries to the Kiev Rus of his boyhood - a ruined city under Mongol dominion - and to ancient Constantinople, where Tartar raiders sell him into slavery. And in a magnificent palazzo in the Venice of the Renaissance we see him emotionally and intellectually in thrall to the great vampire Marius, who masquerades among humankind as a mysterious, reclusive painter and who will bestow upon Armand the gift of vampiric blood. As the novel races to its climax, moving through scenes of luxury and elegance, of ambush, fire, and devil worship to nineteenth-century Paris and today's New Orleans, we see its eternally vulnerable and romantic hero forced to choose between his twilight immortality and the salvation of his immortal soul. From the Trade Paperback edition.

For the letter 'A' the first person that came to mind was the Queen of the vampire novel herself: Anne Rice! I fell in love with her writing years ago and to this day her books still bring me so much joy! I was deeply saddened by her passing. 💔

Can I use an author name for these prompts or is it titles only? Also thanks to the many people who have tagged me for this! 😆💕📚

As always...I really enjoyed this Vampire Chronicles book. After reading this I am a bit perturbed that Antonio Banderas was Armand in the movie, because he looks nothing like him! I give it 4.5 out of 5🍪

ARMAND! great thrift store find! i already have a new copy of Queen of the Damned but i love these particular covers , as for Armand, ive read very divided opinions. i‘ve read it is boring and repetitive and he‘s not a very likable character to begin with BUT i happen to be fascinated with him sooo i personally can‘t wait 😊 what a beautiful cover

I wasn‘t a big Armand fan to begin with, and having finished this book, I‘m pretty sure I hate him. What a whiny, repetitive, boring mess of a book. A third of it was basically a continuation of the (very annoying) story of Memnoch the Devil. So... 😣

I loved the Mayfair Witches, and loved the first four Vampire Chronicles books. I‘m going to keep going only because the next book has a Mayfair and my darling Louis. 😃

⭐️⭐️

Favorite Female Author: I read The Vampire Armand when I was far too young to do so😂😄...but this lady right here had me hooked from the moment I met her. I love her work and I very nearly own everything she‘s written. 🖤🖤🖤

AshleyHoss820 @jillannjohn I mostly stuck to reading her Vampire Chronicles, but I intend to read all of it one day! 😄😄 6y

Gay vampire sex, Armand gets duped into joining/leading a cult, Lestat fucks shit up (as usual), Armand and Marius make amends. The end. Not her best work by any means.

Bostonmomx2 I‘ve never read her but that really doesn‘t sound good 😕 7y
BeansPage @Bostonmomx2 this was #6 in the Chronicle series. I wasn't expecting it to be that great TBH. Numbers 1, 2, 3 & 5 were great!! 7y
LauraJ This is where I stopped reading the series. 7y
BeansPage @LauraJ I have all but Prince Lestat. I'm going for the whole series lol 😜 7y
OrangeMooseReads Armand‘s story isn‘t all that interesting I agree. Anne just announced a new Lestat book coming out this year. I‘m reading and collecting the series as well, only missing Realms of Atlantis. 7y

I've had the luck of meeting Anne Rice twice and have four of her novels signed. Of my signed books, Armand is my favorite. I highly recommend picking it up if you haven't already.

Embla So lucky!! I've read all her books. Best vampire saga ever! 8y

I was looking thought Pinterest, as one does, and I come across the picture on the left. It is supposed to be Marius and Armand from The Vampire Chronicles. Every time I see this picture I think of the man on the right. Danny Avidan, one of the game grumps and singer of Ninja Sex Party. I can't be the only one who sees this right? josie281 Those definitely match. 8y

I bailed on this audio book about a year ago, came back to it a few days ago. It's a good story, however for anyone else who does the audiobook version just go into knowing that the guy sounds/reads it like a robot. If you can get past that you are good to go!
