This was overall okay. We didn‘t see as much of the miniature horse and dogs as I would have liked 😂

Jenny inherits a lakeside resort with partially built cabins after her father‘s death (which comes at just the right time) and she moves there to finish building them before Christmas. There is some minor attraction to the contractor Luke, that blooms into romance by the end.

But Jenny‘s constant doom and the fast “love” wasn‘t my thing!

This was a free ebook I downloaded, and thought it would be a fun Christmas read. It was a light, quick story to read. I'm not a fan of romance novels, and this one definitely wasn't over the top. There were a few minor inconsistencies in the story, but it was a cute story to read at Christmas.

Pickpick

Feel-good Christmas story set on a lake in NC. Jenny has inherited some land from her father with eight small cabins on it, which she turns into a resort or inn business. Both she and her contractor are recently out of relationships and are attracted to one another, so there is a romance very-lite in here.

I love the renovation process and the secondary characters, who are all so very relatable. Jenny‘s two dogs and mini-horse are adorable!!

Started my next holiday read 🎄 I enjoy this author from my own state of NC.

I‘m admittedly intrigued with having a pet mini-horse that spends time indoors as he pleases-he is shown on the cover. His name is Levi and just three chapters in, I already adore him.

I wrote a gentler review on Amazon bc I got an arc. You guys get unfettered truth- the story was just kind of meh for me. If gentle, love inspired romances are your thing you'll probably like this. They aren't my thing. I need fire and breathlessness.
